Maggie is progressing well on her new diet. She took about half an hour to decide to eat her first meal of raw foods; but when she did, she dug in with gusto and has been eating without hesitation since. Initially she had no loose stools but on March 16th, she did have a pretty good diarrhea blow out (sorry to be graphic, but at least I didn't post the pictures). She was still her playful self and fine in every other way, but for whatever reason her body needed to expel her dinner and quickly. The red inflammation has subsided, so it looks like there is no fresh irritations. She does scratch a little, but it's nothing like the constant scratching she did when she first came to the Humane Society. We also have chosen some herbal support for Maggie and she has been started on those and some flower essences to help with her transition and recovery.
